A scope considered within the whole project.

Mechanical services make buildings comfortable and usable. Water supply, drainage, heating, cooling and ventilation require space, access and coordination with the rest of the design. We discuss these needs as part of new construction, fit-out and refurbishment, identifying the required systems and the boundaries of each work package.

What can the scope include?

  • Water supply and drainage coordination
  • Heating and cooling requirements
  • Ventilation and equipment interfaces
  • Access, commissioning and handover requirements

Before the work begins.

Existing infrastructure, usage, equipment choices and maintenance access affect the solution. Drawings, system specifications and the condition of current installations help avoid hidden assumptions. Project-specific requirements for testing, commissioning and locally authorised design or installation are established before delivery.

When should mechanical services be considered?

As early as the layout stage. Plant areas, shafts, drainage falls, ventilation routes and maintenance access influence the architecture and must be coordinated before finishes and fixed furniture are finalised.
