A scope considered within the whole project.
Existing buildings require an engineering assessment before a strengthening method can be proposed. Visible defects, previous changes and available drawings form only part of that assessment. Usta Istanbul considers retrofitting enquiries with the relevant engineering discipline so that any proposed work is based on the condition and requirements of the individual structure.
What can the scope include?
- Existing drawings and building information review
- Coordination of required engineering assessment
- Project-specific strengthening work packages
- Interfaces with occupancy and finishing works
Before the work begins.
No strengthening method or safety outcome can be established from photographs alone. Investigations, calculations, approvals and the involvement of authorised professionals are defined for the project. Access, occupation, temporary works and restoration of finishes also need to be included in the delivery discussion.
Can you recommend a strengthening method from a photograph?
Photographs can support an initial enquiry, but they do not replace a structural assessment. The method and scope must follow the required engineering investigation and project approvals.
